National Security

National defense must be one of government’s foremost priorities.

Every day, terrorists are plotting and planning against the United States.  Additionally, the situation on our borders is in crisis.  To meet these challenges and many others, Congress must ensure our laws are being enforced and that we are making national security a budget priority.

 Here are some ideas to protect the American people by fighting terrorism, supporting our troops, strengthening our military, defending democracy, and protecting on our borders:

  • Prohibit leniency to foreign terrorists, by not providing Miranda warnings when captured, keeping the Guantanamo Bay facility open, and trying terrorists in military courts and not civilian ones;

  • Fully fund missile defense to help protect our homeland;

  • Aggressively enforce sanctions against Iran;

  • Provide resources, authority, and support to our military;

  • Protect our borders with strong enforcement of our laws, cooperation with state and local officials, and support legal immigration.
