House Armed Services Committee Press Conference on Deficit Reduction and Defense Spending

Secretary Panetta agreed with Mac in a recent House Armed Services Committee hearing that there should not be a dime cut from defense beyond that which Congress has already enacted. The Secretary was clear in saying the President agrees with this view that defense has been cut enough. Furthermore, General Dempsey said further cuts in the defense budget would be irrepairable.
