WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Mac Thornberry, Vice Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, made the following statement on the security breaches under the U.S. Secret Service:

"It was appropriate for the Director of the Secret Service to resign amidst the disturbing episodes that have come to light so far.  As with the VA, however, just changing the person at the top is not enough to change the culture and professionalism of the whole organization.  Much more will be required."​
