U.S. Congressman Mac Thornberry
Dear Friends,

Two weeks ago was the first week in some time that the House was not in session and voting.  I enjoyed the chance to get out of Washington and see some interesting and even exciting things.  Below are just a few highlights from that week.

I had the opportunity to visit Dexter Learning Lab to see their innovative way of teaching.  It is amazing the kind of things people can create when given the correct environment.  I saw young kids creating things many of us could never have imagined at their age.  These are the kind of tools that can help prepare our future leaders and create jobs in our area.

While in Amarillo, I visited the Army Reserve Center.  This center houses our Army Reserves and our National Guard; both are ready and willing to serve our country as needed.

I also met with West Texas A&M’s president, Dr. Wendler, to talk about the new plan for WT’s future and an impressive program to support our military.  They are doing great work to ensure that our servicemembers have what they need to succeed in life.

It is important that the people of District 13 know what we are doing in Washington for them, and that we continue to hear from you.  For questions on what Congress is working on please visit my website, contact me by phone, letter, e-mail, or on  Facebook.
